Claims Manager - LAM

About the Role

Responsibilities

• ● Lead, coach and support a team of Claims Adjusters in managing cargo and marine claims in line with established guidelines and procedures.
• ● Monitor team performance, service levels, KPIs and claims quality.
• ● Provide technical guidance on complex, high-value and sensitive claims , including liability, settlement and recovery matters.
• ● Ensure claims are appropriately investigated, documented and resolved while balancing customer experience, commercial considerations and legal requirements .
• ● Protect and pursue recovery rights and support loss prevention initiatives.
• ● Maintain high standards of claims documentation, data quality and system usage.
• ● Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Claims SOPs and processes .
• ● Identify capability gaps and support team training, coaching and development.
• ● Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Fleet/Marine teams, customers, lawyers, underwriters, P&I Clubs, recovery agents and third-party claims administrators .
• ● Provide accurate claims reporting, analysis and management information.
• ● Escalate complex or high-value matters to senior management as appropriate.
• ● Work collaboratively with global and regional Claims teams to drive consistent and effective claims operations.
• ● Proven experience handling complex claims and providing technical guidance.
• ● Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• ● Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• ● Ability to work effectively in a global matrix environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
• ● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• ● Commercial and solutions-oriented mindset.
• ● LLB, LLM, MBA or equivalent qualification.
