Responsibilities

  • ● Under directive supervision:
  • ● Receives, documents, handles and stores incoming shipments of materials and supplies, including quality control and other receipt inspections.
  • ● Assembles material for jobs or for transfer to other Storerooms.
  • ● Prepares out going materials and arranges for shipments.
  • ● Accepts material returns and sorts for stock or salvage.
  • ● Performs inventories, as required, including review of stock levels and obsolescence. Drives and operates all Stores equipment, such as forklifts and Stores trucks.
  • ● Performs Stores clerical duties as required.
  • ● Performs related or less skilled work as required.

Requirements

  • ● Should have had at least one year of experience in related utility operations or the equivalent, prior experience in the Stores Department is desirable. Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methods of procedure are available. Equivalent to four years of high school.
  • ● Must acquire a working knowledge of related stock symbol system, company accounting and purchasing procedures, and computer terminal operations.
  • ● Prefer someone already having such knowledge.
  • ● Must be familiar with the Company's Safety Rules, approved methods of resuscitation and be able to render practical First Aid.
  • ● Must be able to qualify for required licenses.
  • ● Must be especially neat and orderly in work.
  • ● Must be willing to work extra and/or irregular hours as required.
  • ● Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
  • ● Must be willing to work under unusual or special working conditions and surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
