About the Role

ff Specialist Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that the OPMH service at the Braeside Hospital functions in a way that aligns with the Mission and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare, and to ensure that the medical and other care provided to patients in OPMH is of high quality. HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation all NSW Health transferrable entitlements will be recognised.

Responsibilities

  • ● Provide demonstrably high-quality specialist services for OPMHs inpatient services
  • ● To work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission In Action of HammondCare;
  • ● Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors and undertake research in OPMHs as opportunities present.

Requirements

  • ● Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Psychiatry in Australia (AHPRA)
  • ● FRANZCP or equivalent Consultant qualification, preferably also holding Fellowship of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age
  • ● Demonstrated sound, effective communication skills
  • ● Demonstrated ability to work in a team
  • ● Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise
  • ● Willingness to participate in teaching and research projects
  • ● Current Driver's Licence
  • ● Research Qualification (desirable)
