About the Role

This role plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice, including assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.

Responsibilities

  • ● Meal choices and individual nutrition must be considered.
  • ● Consideration of allergies and food intolerances is necessary.
  • ● The overall dining experience must be enhanced.
  • ● Residents must be assisted with meal selection and meal timing preferences.
  • ● Dining areas must be prepared and set up to meet individual needs and preferences.
  • ● Residents must be actively engaged with to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes.
  • ● Empathy and kindness must be used to foster a positive dining experience.
  • ● Resident choice and control must be promoted to uphold dignity and respect.
  • ● Dining experience areas must be prepared and maintained, and meal service must be provided to meet individual resident choices.
  • ● Accurate nutrition and diet information must be maintained as required.
  • ● Quality food preparation must be assisted with in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework.
  • ● Kitchen stock supplies must be maintained as required.

Requirements

  • ● Demonstrated customer service skills are required.
  • ● A compassionate and caring attitude is necessary.
  • ● Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience is highly regarded.
