About the Role

Strategic. Commercial. Influential. Honey Birdette is seeking a commercial business acumen and forward-thinking Head of Commercial Finance to shape the financial direction of a dynamic growth-focused organisation. This is a high-impact role for a finance leader who thrives on translating data into strategy, influencing decision-making and building robust financial frameworks that drive performance and sustainable growth. As Head of Commercial Finance, you will play a pivotal role in strategic planning financial analysis risk management and operational alignment across the business. You will strengthen commercial insight, enhance financial controls and ensure the organisation is positioned to scale profitably and responsibly. Partner with the CFO and executive team to shape business plans, evaluate strategic initiatives and lead financial modelling and scenario analysis to support informed decision making. Oversee financial reporting in collaboration with the Financial Controller, ensuring accurate financial statements, insightful performance analysis, and clear executive dashboards that drive accountability and action. Manage cash flow, liquidity, and forecasting to maintain financial stability while supporting both operational requirements and long-term strategic objectives. Identify and mitigate financial risks, strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks while ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and audit obligations. Drive margin improvement, cost optimisation, and broader profitability initiatives to enhance overall commercial performance. Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure operational consistency and control. Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial finance team while fostering strong cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and forecasting to maintain financial stability while supporting both operational requirements and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks while ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and audit obligations.
  • Drive margin improvement, cost optimisation, and broader profitability initiatives to enhance overall commercial performance.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure operational consistency and control.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial finance team while fostering strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Leverage technology, automation, and business intelligence tools to streamline processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and elevate data-driven decision support.
  • Chartered Account (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a commercial finance manager or similar role
  • Experience within retail wholesale FMCG or a similar fast paced industry
  • Experience with NetSuite NSPB and Power BI highly regarded
  • Strong financial modelling and data analysis capability
  • Commercially minded with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven leadership capability and experience developing team members
