Responsibilities

  • ● Lead a HSE team (four to five staff) to partner closely with key internal stakeholders, inclusive of but not limited to Sodexo office and operational leadership teams, clients, contracting partners and governing bodies to deliver Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) leadership to the delivery of construction projects.
  • ● Drive safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across our sites and strategic accounts.
  • ● Drive a strong safety culture, deliver behavioural safety programs, and coach site teams.
  • ● Ensure consistent application of HSEQ systems and compliance with WHS, ISO, client, and company standards.
  • ● Lead risk assessments, audits, and critical control processes across high-risk activities.
  • ● Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • ● Act as the key HSEQ contact for clients, site leadership, and service partners.
  • ● Lead HSEQ requirements for new site mobilisations and support business growth activities.
  • ● Deliver HSEQ training and ensure workforce competency and compliance.
  • ● Monitor HSEQ performance, analyse trends, and provide insights to leadership.
  • ● Support emergency response planning and injury management programs.

Requirements

  • ● Proven experience in a senior HSE/HSEQ role, ideally in remote or resource environments, delivering constructions projects.
  • ● Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and ISO standards.
  • ● Experience in audits, risk management, and incident investigation.
  • ● Excellent proactive and consistent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • ● Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • ● Flexibility to travel regularly and work across remote locations.
