About the Role

When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Cheltenham and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • ● Provide general housekeeping and make beds.
  • ● Clean, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • ● Wash, fold, and iron laundry.
  • ● Prepare meals and do grocery shopping.
  • ● Get clients out of bed, showered, and dressed for the day.
  • ● Assist clients to take their medications.
  • ● Assist with mobility and therapy goals.
  • ● Provide complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
  • ● Provide social and emotional support.
  • ● Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments.
  • ● Help the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

Requirements

  • ● Enjoy having variety in their day.
  • ● Are passionate about providing an excellent service.
  • ● Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • ● Don't sweat the small stuff and can shake off bad days or traffic delays.
  • ● Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.
  • ● A valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
  • ● Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training, and medications.
