About the Job

When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Sandford and surrounding areas.

Role & Responsibilities

  • ● General housekeeping and making beds.
  • ● Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
  • ● Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
  • ● Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
  • ● Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
  • ● Assisting clients to take their medications.
  • ● Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
  • ● Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.

  • ● Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
  • ● Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

Requirements

Certifications

  • ● A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.

Experience

  • ● At least 3 months experience in a similar professional role.
  • ● Experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist training, and medications.

Skills

  • ● Enjoy having variety in their day.
  • ● Are passionate about providing an excellent service.
  • ● Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • ● Don't sweat the small stuff; able to handle challenging situations without taking it personally.
  • ● Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.
