About the Role

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person with 3 months or more experience in a similar role to join the Silverchain team and service clients in Redfern, NSW and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • ● Providing our aged care clients with home help services such as general housekeeping and making beds
  • ● Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
  • ● Washing, folding and ironing laundry
  • ● Meal preparation and grocery shopping
  • ● Providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
  • ● Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • ● Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
  • ● Providing social and emotional support
  • ● Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • ● Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things

Requirements

  • ● Having 3 months or more experience in a similar role
  • ● Enjoying having variety in their day
  • ● Being able to build positive relationships with clients and their families
  • ● Caring about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer
  • ● Being comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems
  • ● Having an Open Australian Driver's Licence
  • ● Having your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
