About the Role

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role, to join the Silverchain team in the Cheltenham and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as general housekeeping and making beds.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as washing, folding and ironing laundry.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as meal preparation and grocery shopping.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as assisting clients to take their medications.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as providing social and emotional support.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
  • ● You will be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

Requirements

  • ● You must have a valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
  • ● You must have a Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability.
  • ● You must have experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.
  • ● You must enjoy having variety in your day.
  • ● You must be passionate about providing an excellent service.
  • ● You must be able to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • ● You must be able to work independently and find solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.
