About the Role
It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Hadfield and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- ● Providing our aged care clients with home help services such as general housekeeping and making beds
- ● Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
- ● Washing, folding and ironing laundry
- ● Meal preparation and grocery shopping
- ● Providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
- ● Assisting clients to take their medications
- ● Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
- ● Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
- ● Providing social and emotional support
- ● Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
- ● Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things
Requirements
- ● A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- ● Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
- ● Ability to enjoy having variety in their day
- ● Ability to be passionate about providing an excellent service
- ● Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
- ● Ability to work independently and find solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help
