About the Role

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain and service clients in Moorabbin, VIC and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • ● Providing our aged care clients with home help services such as general housekeeping and making beds
  • ● Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
  • ● Washing, folding and ironing laundry
  • ● Meal preparation and grocery shopping
  • ● Providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
  • ● Assisting clients to take their medications
  • ● Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • ● Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
  • ● Providing social and emotional support
  • ● Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • ● Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things

Requirements

  • ● A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • ● Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
  • ● Enjoy having variety in their day
  • ● Are passionate about providing an excellent service
  • ● Can build positive relationships with clients and their families
  • ● Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help
