About the Role

The Care Worker role involves delivering aged care clients with a range of home help and personal care services, from general housekeeping and meal preparation to medication assistance, mobility support, complex care for high need patients, social and emotional support, and transport to activities.

Responsibilities

  • ● Provide general housekeeping and make beds
  • ● Clean, mop, and vacuum floors
  • ● Wash, fold, and iron laundry
  • ● Prepare meals and do grocery shopping
  • ● Assist clients in getting out of bed, showering, and dressing
  • ● Help clients take their medications
  • ● Assist with mobility and therapy goals
  • ● Provide complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
  • ● Offer social and emotional support
  • ● Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • ● Help family carers take a break or have time for other activities

Requirements

  • ● Enjoy having variety in their day
  • ● Be passionate about providing excellent service
  • ● Build positive relationships with clients and their families
  • ● Maintain a calm attitude and not take personal offense from client issues
  • ● Work independently, solve everyday problems, and know when to ask the manager for help
  • ● Hold a valid Australian Driver's Licence
  • ● Own an insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • ● Have at least 3 months of experience in a similar professional role
  • ● Have experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training, and medication management
