About the Role
It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for just that person with 3 months or more experience in a similar role to join the Silverchain team in the Brisbane South area.
Responsibilities
- ● Providing our aged care clients with home help services such as General housekeeping and making beds
- ● Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
- ● Washing, folding and ironing laundry
- ● Meal preparation and grocery shopping
- ● Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
- ● Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
- ● Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
- ● Providing social and emotional support
- ● Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
- ● Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things
Requirements
- ● Enjoy having variety in their day
- ● Are passionate about providing an excellent service
- ● Can build positive relationships with clients and their families
- ● Don't sweat the small stuff
- ● Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help
- ● A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- ● Experience of 3 months or more in a similar role
