Responsibilities

  • ● Monitor token usage and inference spend across engagements to deliver cost efficient AI solutions.
  • ● Build and maintain dashboards and cost reports for client engagements, providing clear, defensible cost insights.
  • ● Identify and act on right sizing opportunities, routing between expensive frontier models and cheaper fine tuned or smaller models without compromising quality.
  • ● Provide cost performance analysis to AI Architects and specialists during model selection, translating benchmark results into total cost of ownership views.
  • ● Model cost implications of scaling a POC/POV to production volume to ground pricing and commercial discussions in projected spend.
  • ● Produce regular cost transparency reports for engagement leads and clients, supporting the PRR Model & Token Strategy pillar.
  • ● Maintain FinOps best practice standards across AIIS engagements, aligned with broader NCS cloud FinOps practices.
  • ● Give fast, lightweight cost estimates during POC/POV to inform early client conversations about production viability.
  • ● Own ongoing cost governance for live production AI systems, catching cost drift before it becomes a client issue.
  • ● Contribute reusable cost modelling templates and dashboards to the shared internal asset library.
  • ● Work closely with LLMOps Engineers and Cloud Architects on underlying cost/performance tradeoffs and support commercial and presales conversations with defensible cost data.

Requirements

  • ● 2-4 years of relevant experience in AI FinOps or related fields.
  • ● Experience building and maintaining cost dashboards and monitoring spend across AI engagements.
  • ● Ability to perform model cost analysis and provide cost performance insights for model selection.
  • ● Experience supporting POC to production cost modelling and estimating scaling costs.
  • ● Knowledge of cost governance, budgeting, and right sizing strategies for AI deployments.
  • ● Strong collaboration skills with AI Architects, LLMOps Engineers, Cloud Architects, and commercial teams.
  • ● For senior level: ability to own FinOps standards across multiple engagements, guide pricing and commercial discussions, mentor junior engineers, and shape company wide AI cost governance best practices.
