Responsibilities
- ● Inspect road surfaces, drainage systems, and related infrastructure to identify maintenance and repair needs.
- ● Perform routine maintenance activities including patching, sealing, and resurfacing of roads.
- ● Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as compactors, pavers, and graders in accordance with safety protocols.
- ● Respond promptly to road damage reports and emergency situations.
- ● Coordinate with traffic management personnel to ensure public safety during maintenance operations.
- ● Document maintenance activities, equipment usage, and work completed for record-keeping purposes.
- ● Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
- ● Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and challenges.
- ● Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting on maintenance equipment.
- ● Maintain a clean and organized work environment and properly store tools and materials.
Requirements
- ● 2-3 years of experience in road maintenance, construction, or similar field-based work.
- ● Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and maintenance equipment.
- ● Strong understanding of road safety protocols and traffic management principles.
- ● Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- ● Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
- ● Valid Australian driver's license.
- ● Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- ● Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- ● Clear communication skills and attention to detail.
- ● Heavy vehicle license (HR or HC class).
- ● First Aid certification.
- ● Traffic management certification.
- ● Experience with road asset management systems.
- ● Knowledge of local road infrastructure standards and maintenance schedules.
- ● Previous experience working for local government or transportation authorities.
