Responsibilities
- ● Supervise and manage a team of operational staff, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
- ● Ensure all facility operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices
- ● Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily operational activities to optimize resource recovery processes and facility efficiency
- ● Monitor team performance, conduct performance reviews, and implement corrective actions as needed
- ● Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and documentation in accordance with organizational standards
- ● Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve productivity and safety outcomes
- ● Communicate effectively with senior management, team members, and external stakeholders regarding operational status and performance metrics
- ● Oversee equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime
- ● Manage budget allocations for the team and operational expenses within approved parameters
- ● Foster a positive, safety-conscious workplace culture that motivates team members and promotes engagement
- ● Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures
Requirements
- ● Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role within operations, facility management, or resource recovery/waste management sector
- ● Strong knowledge of resource recovery operations, waste management processes, and environmental compliance requirements
- ● Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced operational environment
- ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels
- ● Proficiency in health and safety management, including incident reporting and hazard identification
- ● Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- ● Experience with operational planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- ● Competency in performance management and employee development
- ● Problem-solving and analytical skills with a decisive, action-oriented approach
- ● Familiarity with operational software systems and data management tools
- ● Knowledge of budget management and cost control principles
- ● Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational demands as required
- ● Current car drivers' licence
- ● Current forklift, front-end loader, and excavator licence
