About the Role
The Nurse Unit Manager role in the specialist mental health unit involves leading the clinical team, delivering compassionate mental health services, collaborating with multidisciplinary staff, and overseeing patient care on an 11 month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities
- ● Lead the mental health nursing team.
- ● Manage the unit and coordinate patient care on a day to day basis.
- ● Monitor and implement strategies to achieve agreed key performance indicators.
- ● Mentor and coach Assistant Nurse Unit Managers.
- ● Provide support to and collaborate with medical and allied health teams to ensure high quality, safe, and compassionate care for patients and their families or carers.
- ● Assess patients and manage all clinical issues related to their condition.
- ● Actively engage in clinical governance and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- ● Current unrestricted AHPRA Nursing registration.
- ● At least three years of mental health nursing experience.
- ● Minimum of twelve months of experience in a leadership position.
