About the Role

The role is for a casual, fully qualified Chef who will work with the Head or Sous Chef to prepare and deliver high quality, a la carte meals for patients, visitors, staff and special events at Epworth HealthCare. The chef will contribute to department effectiveness, ensure excellent patient service experiences, and uphold workplace health and safety practices while working within a modern kitchen equipped with the latest meal flow management software.

Responsibilities

  • ● Deliver high quality meals using fresh ingredients in line with Epworth's vision, purpose and values.
  • ● Produce meals for patients, visitors, staff and special events, providing a la carte room service with dedicated waiting staff.
  • ● Work collaboratively with a team of professionals under the guidance of the Head or Sous Chef.
  • ● Contribute to the effectiveness of the department and the hospital.
  • ● Focus on providing excellent patient service experiences.
  • ● Follow and promote workplace health and safety practices and staff wellbeing.

Requirements

  • ● Hold a trade qualification in commercial cooking.
  • ● Have experience in large scale meal service, preferably serving 120+ patrons per service.
  • ● Possess reliable personal transport.
  • ● Demonstrate good availability for shift work.
  • ● Be a team player who is passionate about food, reliable and hard working.
