About the Company

Canva is a company focused on redefining how the world experiences design. Its flagship Sydney campus is an extension of the Surry Hills neighbourhood, designed for collaboration, focus, and connection. The company offers a hybrid way of working, trusting employees to choose the balance that empowers them and their team. The Video Group within the Design Experience Supergroup focuses on delivering a quick, seamless video creation experience to keep Canva competitive in the fast-moving social media space, using data to drive product decisions that scale the user base while maintaining speed and simplicity.

Responsibilities

  • ● Validate new UX in our most loved features through experiments by working directly with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers to deliver meaningful changes in the product, measure the impact, and support release decisions.
  • ● Build and maintain dashboards for your group's initiatives, with a focus on understanding trends in performance metrics such as latency and error rates, and user adoption/retention.
  • ● Provide regular updates to stakeholders on feature health and the results of experiments.
  • ● Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to identify opportunities where data can guide more strategic decision-making.
  • ● Turn ideas into quick wins through fast experimentation, as the Product team has an appetite to continuously identify opportunities.

Requirements

  • ● Proven track record of using data to influence business decisions and drive growth.
  • ● Strong technical fundamentals including hypothesis-driven problem solving, SQL, numerical reasoning, metric design and forecasting, insight generation, and data storytelling.
  • ● Experience with experimentation, designing analytic events, and working with data warehouses.
  • ● Experience working with large datasets and comfort using R or Python.
  • ● Experience in a tech company that builds customer-facing web or mobile products, and understanding of industry concepts like product funnels and event tracking.
  • ● Experience at a social media company or media agency, with exposure to video analytics, content production processes, and evaluation.
  • ● Excellent soft skills including attention to detail, clear communication (both written and verbal), and the ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives.
  • ● A background in a STEM field, especially mathematics or statistics, is a plus.
  • ● Experience or interest in working with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI tools is desirable.
