The role combines deep subject matter expertise with end-to-end ownership, encompassing support for roadmap planning, vendor management, solution design, project delivery, operational support, and continuous improvement of POS technologies across Ampol's retail network. The role serves as the technology SME for POS applications and associated integrations, ensuring reliable transaction processing, master data accuracy, and seamless data exchange across connected systems.

Responsibilities

  • ● Perform hands-on analysis, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and support of POS applications and associated interfaces to ensure stable and reliable business operations.
  • ● Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of end-to-end retail transaction flows and master data processes, ensuring accurate data exchange between POS and connected platforms.
  • ● Support project and enhancement delivery through requirements analysis, solution design input, system configuration, integration validation, pilot execution, deployment support, and production releases.
  • ● Investigate and resolve complex application, transaction, integration, and data quality issues, working closely with vendors and internal technology teams to determine root cause and drive resolution.
  • ● Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, business stakeholders, architecture teams, and downstream application owners while identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and continuous improvement.
  • ● Administer and maintain Jira backlogs, user stories, defects, workflows, technical documentation, and support artefacts while identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • ● Proven hands-on experience supporting POS applications within retail environments, including transaction processing.
