Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and direction for all civil and structural engineering activities across assigned projects.
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for Clients, Consultants, Project Managers and subcontractors.
  • Attend design review, technical coordination and project progress meetings.
  • Lead discussions on complex technical matters and provide practical engineering solutions.
  • Review and manage civil and structural design deliverables, drawings, calculations, specifications and technical submissions.
  • Provide technical guidance to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers and site teams.
  • Identify technical risks and develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate technical standards and engineering practices.
  • Ensure technical issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner to minimise impact on project cost and programme.
  • Lead the technical review and coordination of civil and structural designs with architectural, MEP and other engineering disciplines.
  • Review structural drawings, civil layouts, calculations, specifications, design reports and technical submissions.
  • Coordinate with Consultants and design teams to resolve design discrepancies, clashes and technical queries.
  • Ensure civil and structural designs and construction activities comply with applicable UAE regulations, codes and authority requirements.
  • Coordinate technical requirements and approvals with relevant authorities and statutory bodies.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant UAE construction regulations, standards and authority requirements.
  • Lead technical coordination between design, construction and project management teams.
  • Review designs from a constructability and practical implementation perspective.
  • Promote the effective use of BIM and digital engineering tools for civil and structural coordination.
  • Review BIM models and coordinated drawings to identify potential clashes and design issues.
