Responsibilities
- ● Lead end to end management of citywide construction projects, from planning and mobilisation through execution, commissioning and handover.
- ● Develop and maintain integrated master programmes covering all project workstreams, milestones, constraints and interfaces across the city.
- ● Translate strategic objectives and city development plans into clear project scopes, deliverables, schedules and resource plans.
- ● Coordinate multiple project teams and construction packages, ensuring alignment of objectives, plans and priorities.
- ● Monitor progress across all projects, identify delays and bottlenecks, and implement recovery plans and mitigation measures.
- ● Oversee detailed planning, including construction sequencing, traffic management, access, logistics and phasing for citywide works.
- ● Work with planners to develop baseline and look ahead schedules, and track performance against key milestones.
- ● Coordinate procurement strategies and long lead items to avoid disruptions and ensure continuity of work.
- ● Act as primary point of contact for clients, city authorities, utilities, community representatives and other external stakeholders.
- ● Lead stakeholder engagement for citywide works, including coordination with traffic police, utility companies, municipal authorities and local communities.
- ● Manage interfaces between multiple projects, developers and public agencies to minimise disruption and ensure integrated delivery.
- ● Communicate project/programme status, key issues and decisions clearly to senior leadership, clients and stakeholders.
- ● Provide leadership and oversight to construction managers and site teams responsible for delivery of individual projects.
- ● Ensure construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and contractual requirements.
- ● Oversee coordination of citywide traffic management, diversions, temporary works and public safety measures during construction.
- ● Champion health, safety and environmental culture across all citywide projects, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
- ● Review and approve key method statements, risk assessments and permits to work for high risk activities.
- ● Ensure robust quality management systems are in place, including inspection and test plans, material approvals and audits.
- ● Oversee project budgets and cost control across the citywide programme, track expenditures, forecasts and cash flow.
- ● Identify and manage programme level risks, including schedule, cost, stakeholder, technical and operational risks.
- ● Lead value engineering and optimisation initiatives, balancing cost, time, quality and stakeholder impact.
- ● Establish and maintain governance frameworks for citywide construction management, including reporting cycles, KPIs and review processes.
- ● Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and clients, including progress, risk, issues and mitigation strategies.
- ● Ensure accurate documentation and records across projects, including progress reports, meeting minutes, change logs, and as built records.
- ● Support project close out and handover, including punch list management, defect resolution and final acceptance documentation.
- ● Set clear performance expectations, conduct reviews and support career development and succession planning.
- ● Promote a collaborative, high performance culture focused on safety, quality, schedule adherence and stakeholder satisfaction.
- ● Drive continuous improvement by capturing and sharing lessons learned.
