About the Role

Create functional, aesthetically pleasing and marketable furniture products. Work on design concepts, materials selection, prototyping, and collaborating with production team.

Responsibilities

  • ● Research market trends, customer preferences, and materials.
  • ● Develop sketches, 3D models, and technical drawings and assembly instructions for furniture.
  • ● Select appropriate materials and finishes.
  • ● Collaborate with production team to ensure feasibility.
  • ● Test prototypes for functionality, durability, and comfort.
  • ● Ensure designs comply with industry standards and sustainability practices.
  • ● Present design concepts to stakeholders and clients.
  • ● Undertake any ad-hoc assignments as and when required by superior.

Requirements

  • ● Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or any related software.
  • ● Strong knowledge of materials, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes.
  • ● Creative and innovative thinking with an eye for aesthetics.
  • ● Strong sketching and 3D modeling skills.
  • ● Understanding of sustainability in design.
  • ● Project management and teamwork abilities.
  • ● Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, or related field.
  • ● Certifications in CAD modeling, woodworking, or furniture engineering are a plus.
  • ● Portfolio showcasing previous furniture design projects.
  • ● 2 years of experience as a Product Designer is preferred.
