Responsibilities

  • Analyse financial performance and highlight significant variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and accuracy of accounting records.
  • Oversee the company's day-to-day financial and accounting operations.
  • Monitor revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and overall financial performance.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to the CFO and senior management.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts in consultation with management.
  • Develop financial projections for new branches, business expansion, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor statutory payment and filing deadlines.
  • Maintain proper financial records and supporting documents for audit and tax purposes.
  • Support management in fundraising, financing, expansion, and corporate restructuring exercises.
  • Ensure all finance-related tasks are completed within the required deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Operations and Inventory teams to ensure proper financial recording of gold bullion, and jewellery inventory.
  • Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile inventory records with accounting records.
  • Ensure proper documentation and authorisation for high-value transactions.
  • Assist management in identifying financial risks relating to gold price movements, inventory holding, and working capital.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge in financial reporting and internal control.
  • High integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent and able to work closely with management.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and management reporting.
  • Experience dealing with banks, auditors, tax agents, and other financial institutions.
