Summary of Role: We are seeking a motivated Intern to support the characterization, validation, and analysis of silicon photonic devices. This internship offers hands-on experience with advanced optical and electrical test equipment, data analysis, and semiconductor testing in a collaborative R&D and engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Assist in performing optical and electrical testing of silicon photonic devices at chip and wafer levels following established procedures and work instructions.
  • Support execution of test plans and ensure accurate collection and recording of measurement data.
  • Analyze test data and prepare summaries, charts, and reports for review by engineers and project teams.
  • Assist engineers in troubleshooting test-related issues and investigating measurement anomalies.
  • Help maintain laboratory test setups, equipment, and testing environments to ensure reliable operation.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of automated test solutions, data collection tools, and test workflows.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, results, observations, and lessons learned.
  • Support additional engineering projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Available for a 16-24 week credit-bearing internship commencing January 2027
  • Prior related internship or co-op experience
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
  • Interested in optoelectronics and semiconductor technologies.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
