Full Time/9 Day Fortnight/36 Hours per week Salary: From 94,439 - 98,355 plus Superannuation Position Brief - Accountant About the team The Department Finance Team is seeking an Accountant to complement our team. The Department Finance Team provide financial advice and support to Department Management and Officers, management accounting services to meet Departmental financial management requirements and business support in identifying and recommending initiatives for business improvement to support Departmental operational requirements. This permanent position offers an amazing opportunity to work and grow with a team of professional accountants focussed on providing outstanding financial support and advise, while creating strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Its main purpose is to efficiently work towards best practice in financial management and compliance with Council policy and regulatory requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking an individual who embodies the City's high-performance principles and promotes the continuous improvement of work practices. The successful candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively, analyse requests from the business with the support of the Management and Senior Accountants and have good attention to detail. We're looking for people who have: Proficiency in managing and sorting communications received from the departments via email and teams enquiries

Requirements

  • or similar enterprise resource planning systems
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in using the MS Office suite, including especially Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook
  • Completed tertiary level qualification in accounting and / or commensurate professional experience in accounting and / or finance.
  • Ability to work within a high-pressure environment
  • This role will also require travelling between Council locations and as such, a class C unrestricted licence will be necessary.
