About the Company

JUNIOR LITIGATION LAWYER (CIVIL) Position Overview We are looking for a Junior Litigation Lawyer (Civil) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling civil litigation matters, assisting with the conduct of cases, and managing files from commencement through to disposal. We welcome freshly called-to-the-Bar candidates who are eager to develop their litigation skills, as well as lawyers with at least one (1) year of relevant litigation experience.

Responsibilities

  • ● Handle and manage civil litigation matters independently with minimal supervision.
  • ● Attend case managements, hearings, trials, and other court proceedings.
  • ● Draft and prepare pleadings, cause papers, affidavits, submissions, legal opinions, letters, and other court documents.
  • ● Conduct legal research and provide sound legal analysis and opinions.
  • ● Monitor all files closely and ensure that deadlines, court directions, and procedural requirements are complied with.
  • ● Liaise directly with clients, opposing solicitors, courts, and other relevant parties from time to time.
  • ● Keep clients updated on the progress of their matters and provide appropriate legal advice.
  • ● Conduct matters from the initial stage through to settlement, trial, or disposal.
  • ● Work closely with the team while maintaining the ability to handle assigned matters independently.
  • ● Undertake any other duties reasonably required in relation to the conduct and management of litigation matters.

Requirements

  • ● Possess a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent.
  • ● Freshly called to the Malaysian Bar with a valid Practising Certificate, or have at least one (1) year of relevant litigation experience.
  • ● Strong interest in civil litigation practice.
  • ● Responsible, reliable, committed, and possesses a positive working attitude.
  • ● Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • ● Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.
  • ● Strong legal drafting, legal research, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • ● Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • ● Able to independently draft legal opinions and court documents and attend case managements, hearings, and full trials.
  • ● Possess good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
  • ● Possess own transport.
  • ● Available to commence at the earliest mutually convenient date.
