About the Role
KidsAbility is seeking a Custodian to join our Physical Resources team. Reporting to the Associate Director, Facilities & Procurement and taking direction from the Facilities Lead, this role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for clients, families, visitors, and staff. The Custodian supports daily facility operations by maintaining cleanliness across our buildings, ensuring therapy and program spaces meet infection prevention and control standards, supporting room set-ups, and helping create positive experiences for everyone who visits our sites. This position contributes directly to the health, safety, and well-being of the children, youth, and families we serve. Your Impact: Facility Cleanliness & Maintenance Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of offices, classrooms, therapy spaces, staff lounges, hallways, storage areas, and common spaces. Clean and maintain kitchen areas, appliances, coffee stations, and shared amenities. Support laundry requirements for therapy, school, and aquatic programming. Monitor cleaning supply inventories and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors. Infection Prevention & Client Safety Perform cleaning and disinfection activities in accordance with KidsAbility's infection prevention and control practices. Disinfect therapy equipment, toys, treatment spaces, classrooms, washrooms, tables, chairs, mats, and related program resources. Follow organizational health and safety procedures, includin

- ● Knowledge of WHMIS and workplace health and safety practices.
- ● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- ● Demonstrated commitment to customer service and creating welcoming environments.
- ● Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a team.
- ● Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- ● Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting personal health information.
- ● This is an active, hands-on role that requires:
- ● Frequent walking and standing throughout the workday.
- ● The ability to lift, move, and carry cleaning supplies, laundry, waste materials, and other facility-related items.
- ● The ability to safely and effectively operate cleaning and laundry equipment.
- ● As a multi-site organization, a valid Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required to support work across multiple locations as needed.
