About the Company

We are looking for a pharmacy Assistant who has excellent computer and MS-Office skills, highly experienced with Kroll, dedicated and works well under supervision of pharmacy manager or pharmacist. At least 2 Year experience with Kroll is a MUST. Please do not apply if you are not highly skilled in working with Kroll. Showing proficiency with Kroll is part of the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Service to patients
  • Welcome patients in a professional and considerate manner.
  • Comply with legal intervention limits regarding patients and confidentiality.
  • Respond to telephone calls regarding prescription refills.
  • Work Methods
  • Collect the relevant patient information. Create and update patient records on the computer.
  • Enter and renew prescriptions on the computer.
  • Prepare the packaging of prescriptions by counting pills and applying labels and appropriate precautions on the vials.
  • Obtain the pharmacist's approval for prescriptions and other documents.
  • Record purchases on the e-terminal and handle cash, credit card and debit payments, where applicable.
  • Organize the delivery service for prescriptions.
  • Dispose of biomedical waste in a safe manner.
  • Organize the preparation of pills and blister cards.
  • Ensure laboratory or equipment cleanliness and disinfection. Maintain an orderly work environment.
  • Keep workspace clean and clutter free.
  • Merchandise Control
  • Manage the purchasing of the medication and material required.
  • Identify the merchandise needs and prepare orders for suppliers.
  • Verify the content of the merchandise on delivery. Verify this content against the invoices and purchase orders.
  • Place the products in the proper location and ensure the rotation of medication according to expiry dates and established protocols.

Requirements

  • Computer proficiency with Kroll, Netcare, Word, Excel, and other database programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Communicates effectively at all levels.
  • Accepts and responds to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • The ability to provide exceptional customer service.
