Landscaping & Gardening Worker - Job DescriptionPosition Overview The Landscaping & Gardening Worker is responsible for maintaining gardens, lawns, outdoor areas, and landscaped properties to a high standard. The role involves general gardening, landscaping, plant care, lawn maintenance, and keeping outdoor spaces clean, safe, and attractive.

Responsibilities

  • ● Mow, edge, and maintain lawns and grassed areas.
  • ● Prune, trim, and maintain trees, shrubs, hedges, and plants.
  • ● Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other garden plants.
  • ● Prepare soil, garden beds, and planting areas.
  • ● Weed, mulch, fertilise, and maintain garden beds.
  • ● Install and maintain basic irrigation and watering systems.
  • ● Perform general landscaping, including paving, edging, turf installation, and garden construction.
  • ● Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as mowers, whipper snippers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and other hand tools.
  • ● Remove green waste, leaves, branches, and general garden debris.
  • ● Maintain clean, tidy, and safe work areas.
  • ● Identify plant diseases, pests, and other garden maintenance issues.
  • ● Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
  • ● Complete other landscaping and gardening duties as required.

Requirements

  • ● Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance is desirable.
  • ● Good knowledge of plants, lawns, soil, and general garden maintenance.
  • ● Ability to safely operate gardening equipment and tools.
  • ● Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual work outdoors.
  • ● Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • ● Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of work.
  • ● Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
  • ● Current driver's licence is desirable.
  • ● Relevant landscaping or horticulture qualifications are advantageous.
  • ● Working Conditions
  • ● The position involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and may require physical activities such as lifting, digging, bending, kneeling, mowing, pruning, and operating equipment.
