About the Company

The Amsterdam International Community School (AICS) is a Dutch International Primary and Secondary School offering international education in English to 2400 students of more than 80 different nationalities who are (temporarily) living in the Netherlands and are enjoying high quality, accessible, community based international learning. The AICS is a partly state funded community school, which enables us to deliver high quality education at competitive fees. We were the first school in the Netherlands to offer the full IB continuum (IB, PYP, MYP, DP and CP) and are a fully accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). About the Role

As a Caretaker you play a vital role in supporting our students and staff on a day to day basis. Together with the other caretakers you take care of our buildings and are responsible for a wide array of tasks such as small repairs, solving (safety) issues, support during events, closing the building, etc. With your team you keep the buildings and surroundings in a good, clean and safe condition and you are part of our Emergency Response Team (BHV).

Responsibilities

  • ● Perform small repairs around the school buildings.
  • ● Solve safety issues and respond to emergencies.
  • ● Provide support during school events.
  • ● Close the building at end of day.
  • ● Keep buildings and surroundings clean and in good condition.
  • ● Participate as part of the Emergency Response Team (BHV).

Requirements

  • ● Flexible and service driven, you support students and staff in various ways.
  • ● Proactive and hands on mentality, willing to get your hands dirty.
  • ● Open minded to different cultures and backgrounds.
  • ● Capable of performing various tasks in a busy and noisy environment.
  • ● Able to interact constructively with students and staff.
  • ● Able to speak and understand both English and Dutch.
