Requirements

- ● Specific to this posting:
- ● Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
- ● Major in English
- ● Successful experience teaching English at the secondary school level, delivered in both a classroom and online environment
- ● Successful completion of 'Teaching and Learning Online' course or demonstrated expertise and experience teaching in an online learning environment
- ● Demonstrated ability in online curriculum development and delivery in accordance with the Standards for K-12 distributed learning in B.C.
- ● Demonstrated comfort/skill in communicating in person, by telephone or online with students and parents
- ● Must be fully conversant with current research related to the integration of technology and appropriate pedagogy for distributed learning teaching and learning
- ● Experienced in the use of educational technologies for teaching and learning, especially course management software, asynchronous and synchronous distance delivery software
- ● Applicants who have not demonstrated education or experience in online teaching will be responsible for completing a 100-hour preparatory online course (teaching and learning online and building DL environments) that is recommended by SIDES.
