Meat processing is a critical component of Vili's manufacturing process, with the quality, consistency and accuracy of meat preparation directly impacting the quality and integrity of Vili's finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support a small team of meat processers to safely and effectively achieve daily production requirements
  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Stores and operational teams
  • Actively contribute to waste reduction, yield improvement and continuous improvement
  • Take a hands-on approach to supervision by working alongside the team and actively participating in day-to-day meat processing tasks.
  • Work in a refrigerated environment, including prolonged periods on your feet, repetitive tasks, and the safe handling and movement of meat products and associated materials.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Meat Processing, recognised meat processing qualification or Butcher trade qualification.
  • Hands-on experience in meat processing, butchery or commercial meat production.
  • Previous supervisory, team leadership or 2IC experience highly desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of meat preparation, processing, handling and storage.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, GMP, hygiene and product quality requirements.
  • Strong numerical skills with accurate production, stock and record keeping.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate variations and resolve operational issues.
  • Ability to organise workflow, allocate resources and manage competing production priorities.
  • Basic computer literacy and accurate data entry
