Xometry is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Core Platform team. This role is a strategic technical leadership position focused on the architectural evolution of our flagship enterprise partnership. While our current plug-ins function as external add-ons, you will be responsible for re-architecting Xometry's core application services to live natively within our partner's digital ecosystem. You will shape the technical direction of multiple products, establishing the engineering patterns that allow Xometry's AI-trained on millions of parts-to operate directly on our partner's native 3D geometry. Your goal is to move the architectural framework toward a "target state" where users experience zero-latency DFM feedback and one-click procurement without ever leaving their primary enterprise design environment. This role requires a hybrid schedule (3 days a week) at our North Bethesda, MD or Waltham, MA office location. Requirements

  • ● Deep Technical Expertise: Expert-level mastery of Python, AWS infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks (React/NextJS) used for complex enterprise applications.
  • ● Systems Architect: Proven experience shaping the technical direction of multiple teams and establishing engineering patterns as organizational standards.
  • ● Strategic Roadmap Execution: A track record of securing endorsement for 6-12 month initiatives and driving them to successful production deployment.
  • ● Communication Excellence: The ability to influence senior leadership and external partners on technical strategy and long-term technology investments.
  • ● You Would Be A Great Fit With
  • ● Platform Experience: Background in building "Software as a Service" (SaaS) platforms or complex B2B integration hubs.
  • ● Industrial Tech Background: Experience with manufacturing, logistics, or CAD/PLM software ecosystems.
  • ● Security & Governance: Deep understanding of enterprise data controls, dedicated tenants, and SOC2/ISO compliance within a cloud environment.
  • ● Distributed Systems: Experience architecting large-scale ML platforms or high-frequency marketplace engines.

  • ● The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is 170,000 - 195,000 annually + annual bonus , depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.
