Responsibilities

  • Manage the India tax team (team of 2), including associated workload, prioritization, coaching, and professional development
  • Prepare, review and support tax data extraction, mapping, reconciliations, calculations, and workpaper preparation to support worldwide tax compliance and reporting
  • Promote consistency, quality, and scalability across tax processes and controls
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance and external advisors to support India local tax filings, audits, assessments and notices
  • Monitor changes in India tax regulations and communicate potential impacts to the global tax team
  • Help build deeper internal capabilities and ownership of India tax matters over time
  • Support business growth by providing tax guidance for India-related business initiatives and transactions
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve tax processes across the global tax function
  • Support development of standardized workpapers, data models, and repeatable processes for direct and indirect tax compliance
  • Support implementation and adoption of technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
  • Contribute to the continued development of a centralized tax operations model

Requirements

  • Chartered accountant or any other equivalent qualification
  • 10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience with strong India tax expertise
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and the interaction between accounting and tax reporting
  • Experience leading teams and operating in a multinational environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions, cultures and levels of the organization
  • Strong technology aptitude with the ability to leverage data, systems, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve tax processes and scalability
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and provide thought leadership
