About the Company

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing - and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you'll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that's shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you'll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the Role

Fuel and energy is the single largest controllable cost line for almost every fleet on the planet, and most of that money is still spent on gut feel and spreadsheets. Samsara sees exactly how these fleets run, every mile, every gallon, every idle minute. That data is the foundation for a new class of products, and the upside is real: billions of dollars in savings for our customers, and a meaningful cut to their emissions along with it. As a Senior Product Manager, you'll own a product area end to end, from the customer problem to something the world's largest fleets rely on every day. The team's scope is broad - fuel cards and payments, driver and vehicle efficiency, the EV transition, operational cost intelligence - and you'll go deep on one of these. Much of this space has no existing playbook, especially where AI can now catch waste no spreadsheet ever could. It also means working differently: prototyping with AI, testing ideas in days instead of quarters. You'll spend real time with customers, and just as much with go-to-market on pricing, packaging, and how we tell the savings story, because here selling the value is as much a product decision as building it. We're hiring for the best product generalists we can find, not for fuel or fleet experience. Find the real customer problem, build conviction, ship a measurable outcome: the domain you learned that in doesn't matter to us. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States (East and Central Timezones) & Canada as well as in the United Kingdom. At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who

Responsibilities

  • You're a strong generalist product manager first: you've built your career on customer discovery, prioritization, and driving cross-functional teams to outcomes. The domain (consumer, fintech, marketplace, whatever) matters far less to us than the muscle.
  • You form your own point of view: you don't wait to be told what's worth building. You build conviction from customer evidence and can defend it, even when it differs from where the org was leaning.
  • You think and communicate in a straight line: you can take an ambiguous or messy problem and explain it - and your recommendation - clearly and concisely, leading with the answer rather than the journey to get there.
  • You want real ownership: you'll own a product area's vision, strategy, and roadmap, including the business outcome, not just the shipped feature. If you put in the work, this role won't be your last at Samsara.
  • You appreciate candid feedback and an experimental mindset : Samsara employees challenge the status quo and recognize failure as part of the learning process. We encourage each other to be honest and hold ourselves to high standards.
  • Run deep discovery with the people who live these problems - fleet owners, fuel managers, operations leaders, and finance teams - and turn what you learn into a strategy that ships.
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a key product area, including the business case behind it, not just the backlog.
  • Prototype and design MVPs yourself - clickable flows, working demos, rough cuts, often AI-assisted - to pressure-test ideas with customers before committing engineering time.
  • Ship customer-facing experiences end to end with design, engineering, and data science, and know enough about the underlying data and systems to be a credible, equal partner.
  • Define success metrics, build business cases for new initiatives, and drive a continuous cycle of experimentation and iteration grounded in data and customer feedback.
  • 5+ years in product management, with a track record of shipping customer-facing products used by real customers at scale (not primarily backend, platform, or internal-tooling work).
  • You can point to something you designed, prototyped and built yourself, and a cross-functional launch you drove end to end, including the business outcome it produced (revenue, cost, adoption, retention, whatever the right measure was).
  • You're comfortable contributing to commercial and go-to-market decisions (pricing, packaging, GTM strategy, or a business case) - not just what to build, but why it's worth building.
  • You're data-driven: you are able to dive into data to identify opportunities and then measure your impact. You prioritise the value you can add to customers, and can get other teams behind you by telling stories with data.
  • You have your own product point of view, backed by customer evidence, and you'll defend it even under pushback.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience shipping 0-to-1 products of real scale and complexity, in any domain.
  • Experience shipping products that depend on partnerships, integrations, or external data - ecosystems beyond your own engineering team.
  • Experience shipping AI- or ML-powered features.
