Responsibilities

  • ● Support the identification, evaluation, and onboarding of new datasets of interest to the investment desk.
  • ● Assist in analysing data vendors' product offerings and commercial structures to assess fit-for-purpose and value for money.
  • ● Help maintain a map of the external vendor landscape, ensuring that data products are easily discoverable and well-documented across the firm.
  • ● Build relationships with data vendors under the guidance of senior team members.
  • ● Work directly with data consumers to understand their data needs, developing your knowledge as a subject-matter resource over time.
  • ● What makes a great candidate
  • ● A demonstrable interest in financial markets, data, and technology.
  • ● An interest in alternative data sources (e.g., satellite, web-scraped, transaction, sentiment) and their potential application to investment decision-making.
  • ● Prior internship or placement experience in Financial Services is advantageous but not essential.
  • ● An Undergraduate Degree in a relevant subject
  • ● We would also prefer you to have
  • ● Strong analytical skills and the ability to think creatively about the potential applications of different datasets.
  • ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues and external contacts at all levels.
  • ● High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • ● Proficiency in Excel. Exposure to SQL, Python, or data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) is advantageous but not required.
