About the Role

Tavily, part of Nebius, is the web access layer for AI agents, used by over two million developers including Fortune 500 companies running agents in production. This role involves vertical search, combining public sources with premium vertical data to create a product for specific use cases. You will own this layer end-to-end, deciding which industries and use cases to productize, evaluating data providers, and shaping the product surface. The role requires engaging with customers to understand their needs, building with engineering, shipping products, and ensuring go-to-market effectiveness, owning the outcome from market call to adoption and revenue. The challenge lies in choosing which verticals to invest in. In your first year, you are expected to deeply understand top use cases, ship a product that customers will pay for, and establish a clear vision for future development. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role with significant ownership, working within a small Product Manager team, reporting to the Director of Product, and collaborating with engineering, research, data, and go-to-market teams.

Responsibilities

  • ● Own the vertical roadmap, deciding where to invest, what to ship for each, and when a vertical is not worth it.
  • ● Shape the product surface on top of the data, so a customer gets something built for their job.
  • ● Find and evaluate the data behind each vertical, across public sources and paid providers, and decide what is worth investing in.
  • ● Sit with customers in these industries until you understand their workflow, then turn that into specs engineering can build.
  • ● Set what a good answer looks like in each use case, working with our evaluation team, who own how we measure it.
  • ● Work with customer success to learn what customers ask us for and what makes them leave.
  • ● Partner with the search owner on how results should be ranked and shaped for each use case.

Requirements

  • ● You are a Product Manager or have a similar role with 5+ years experience building products that combine multiple disparate data sources into a new experience.
  • ● You have worked with external customers, turning their needs and pain points into clear specs.
  • ● You have a strong technical background and can dive into the architecture and APIs of multiple data providers.
  • ● You can discuss the pros and cons of different ML approaches, even if you are not implementing them.
  • ● You are comfortable with ambiguity: you can take a vague customer problem, break it down, and ship something that solves it.
  • ● You can communicate at all levels: from detailed specs to high-level strategy.
  • ● You have owned metrics in a commercial setting (e.g., revenue, engagement, conversions).
  • ● You have shipped multiple products from start to finish, and know what works and what doesn't.
  • ● You are curious and detail-oriented: you want to understand how things work and how they can be better.
