About the Role
You'll be responsible for building, maintaining, and hardening our video player, with a strong focus on playback performance, rendering, integrations, and overall viewer experience. You'll also contribute to broadcast augmentation features and the development tools used by our content team. Over time, there will be opportunities to expand your impact into our video processing pipeline and our content and augmentation engines. What you will use day to day You should expect to work in JavaScript and Rust almost every day, with some tasks needing other languages. The balance shifts by task (browser and player code, transcoder and augmentation-related tooling, API). You will predominantly work around video and augmentation
Requirements
- ● Strong experience in lower-level software development
- ● Ability to design, build, and maintain reliable, low-latency systems
- ● Comfortable working across complex, distributed architectures
- ● Proven ability to code in different languages like Java, Kotlin, Rust, Typescript, etc.
- ● Proven ability to lead features or subsystems from ambiguous requirements through to production
- ● Strong collaboration skills, including code reviews, pairing, and clear technical communication
- ● Experience with video, ideally in the browser (for example streaming, timing, latency, encrypted playback)
- ● Experience with graphics API (e.g. OpenGL, WebGL, Vulkan) or game-engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal, Godot), ideally in the browser.
