About the Company

Flipp partners with the largest North American retailers and brands to deliver local promotions and savings to millions of engaged shoppers daily, driving superior returns on investments. We help people make smarter shopping decisions with autonomy and accountability. Our Shopper Consideration Platform allows retailers and manufacturers to create digital experiences from their savings & deals content, aiding shoppers in deciding what to buy and where to buy it. In 2024, Flipp joined forces with the European company Shopfully, creating a global leader in the sector, reaching 400 million households and serving over 1,000 top retailers and brands across 27 markets. Our five principles, Progress Over Perfection, Clarity Through Transparency, Learn Loudly, Challenge with Empathy, and Always Build Better, bring a relentless progress mindset to life and are the behaviours we expect, reward, and hold ourselves accountable to.

About the Role

Our Business Development team finds and builds the partnerships that open up Flipp's next lines of growth - new retailers, new markets, and new products. As a Business Development Representative, you are the front door to all of it. You'll own a prospecting list, build relationships with contacts who've never heard from us, and book the meetings that turn into partnerships. You'll work closely with our Business Development Leads and team, and as you build momentum you'll start running your own sales cycles with smaller accounts - a genuine path into a full BDL role. This is a role for someone who likes the early, unscripted part of the funnel: figuring out who to talk to, finding a way in, and making a compelling case for Flipp.

Responsibilities

  • ● Own a named prospecting list and book net new meetings for our Director and Sales Manager.
  • ● Get creative about how you reach cold contacts - email, phone, and whatever else works.
  • ● Qualify inbound interest and triage it to the right person on the team.
  • ● Pitch small and mid-sized businesses and net new retailers over the phone, and screen for real buying intent.
  • ● Manage your own pipeline of net new prospects, and move them through the early stages of the funnel.
  • ● Build your own book of business over time, running full sales cycles with smaller partners.
  • ● Prepare the team for external meetings - pre-call research, information gathering, and weekly internal slides.
  • ● Keep customer records and contact information accurate and current.
  • ● Spot patterns in what's working, and bring iteration plans to improve your success rate.
  • ● Stay current on our products, services, and plans, and use market reports and internal data to decide where to source new business next.

Requirements

  • ● 1-2 years of prospecting experience, ideally in tech or retail.
  • ● A track record as an effective and efficient prospector, with creative approaches to engaging cold contacts.
