Responsibilities
- ● Lead the team that advocates for Databricks' open source projects, serving as a key link between engineering teams and the global community of practitioners building careers on those projects.
- ● Coach the team on building a content flywheel where a single demo, video, or talk becomes the source of truth for numerous derivative assets.
- ● Apply artificial intelligence as a force multiplier without lowering the technical bar.
- ● Deliver engaging talks, host panels and meetups, create blogs and video content, develop courseware, answer questions in community forums, and meet one on one with influential contributors and maintainers.
- ● Work closely with open source communities and product and engineering teams to ensure that community needs and product development align seamlessly.
- ● Collaborate with fellow Developer Relations managers across Databricks, App Development, and DevRel Programs to create a cohesive and impactful open source strategy.
Requirements
- ● Proven experience building and scaling a developer relations or community team.
- ● Strong standing within open source communities, with active relationships to the Apache Software Foundation, Linux Foundation, and project maintainers or committers.
- ● Demonstrated commitment to open source, including projects that do not directly benefit Databricks.
- ● Deep passion for data and AI.
- ● Genuine empathy for developers' needs.
- ● Experience or familiarity with the Open Lakehouse stack, including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Apache Iceberg, MLflow, and Omnigent.
