Responsibilities

  • ● Define and own execution on multiple platforms, focusing on scalability, platformization, and reliability.
  • ● Design abstractions that can support a wide range of current as well as emerging use cases (such as AI).
  • ● Determine the right tradeoffs and build consensus across Databricks to create and scale seamless product experiences for customers.
  • ● Drive cross-org impact, collaborate, and build consensus among different stakeholders across several functions.
  • ● Redesign existing systems to handle a 10X to 100X increase in scale.
  • ● Revolutionize platform onboarding to cut down time from weeks to mere hours, enhancing efficiency and user experience.
  • ● Create features that significantly enhance both product functionality and end-user experience, driving meaningful improvements across Databricks.
  • ● Cultivate a strong engineering culture focused on quality and productivity, setting a high standard for the team.
  • ● Act as a role model for junior team members, guiding their growth and development.

Requirements

  • ● 12+ years of production level experience in one of: Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar language.
  • ● BS (or higher) in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • ● Experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch.
  • ● Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures.
