We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Ops Specialist to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will have a direct impact on our regulatory integrity by supporting end-to-end KYC / KYB reviews, screening and transaction monitoring, while ensuring processes are completed accurately and in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review Individual and Business KYC/KYB information and documentation.
  • Support review of UBOs, ownership structures and corporate information.
  • Conduct risk-based CDD/EDD and ensure alignment with FCA, DFSA, EU, and global AML standards.
  • Validate onboarding information, detect inconsistencies, and escalate anomalies with clear reasoning.
  • Complete periodic KYC/KYB reviews in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, supporting documents and audit trails for all reviews.
  • Ensure reviews are completed within agreed SLA and quality standards.
  • Review system-generated Sanctions, PEP and Adverse Media alerts and determine potential false-positive matches.
  • Review system-generated alerts and conduct detailed investigations to determine legitimacy of transactions.
  • Analyse transaction patterns, customer behaviour, and risk indicators.
  • Escalate potential matches, suspicious activity or higher-risk cases to senior compliance where required.
  • Ensure timely clearance of alerts while meeting SLA and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all investigations.
  • Support day-to-day Compliance Operations activities across onboarding, periodic reviews, screening and transaction-related queues.
  • Follow defined processes and escalation procedures for higher-risk or unusual cases.
  • Document decisions with complete reasoning and supporting evidence.
  • Gather relevant information and supporting evidence for internal escalations.
  • Support senior Compliance staff with investigations and SAR/STR reviews where required.
  • Stay updated with regulatory requirements and internal AML policies.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Compliance, KYC/KYB/transaction monitoring, preferably within financial services, fintech, or regulated institutions.
  • Strong understanding of KYC, CDD, and EDD frameworks.
  • Familiarity with global sanctions regimes
  • Solid grasp of corporate and legal entity structures.
  • Understanding of AML typologies and transaction monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of payment flows & cross-border risks
  • Ability to identify pattern and interpret risk signals.
  • Ability to dissect edge cases
  • Experience with data dashboards, screening systems, TM tools
  • Skilled in drafting clear escalation memos and high-quality SAR/STR reports.
  • Ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements for non-compliance teams.
  • Curiosity and ownership in approach to compliance challenges

  • Exposure to customer onboarding across multiple regions such as the UK, US, South Africa, Europe and UAE.

  • Familiarity with compliance and onboarding tools such as ComplyAdvantage, Onfido , Lexisnexis and Salesforce.
  • Knowledge or practical use of AI tools to support research, analysis, documentation or process efficiencies.
  • Interest in compliance technology, automation and improving operational processes.
