About the Company
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. Connected Warfare builds the systems that give warfighters a decisive edge in real time - command and control platforms like the Menace Family-of-Systems that fuse sensor data, communications, and autonomy into deployable hardware that works in contested environments. The firmware team is where the product meets reality. We write the code that runs closest to the hardware - the drivers, the protocols, the real-time control loops that make these systems work when it matters. If a new board comes in, we bring it to life. If something breaks at the hardware-software boundary, we find it and fix it. We move fast, ship often, and work directly alongside Electrical Engineering on some of the most complex autonomous systems being built anywhere. We're looking for a firmware engineer who wants to grow their embedded skills on hardware that ships to the field. You'll write real-time microcontroller code, build reusable drivers for sensors and peripherals, and debug the cross-disciplinary problems that live between schematics and software. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with electrical engineers, learn to read schematics and datasheets, and see your code running on deployed systems within months of writing it. This is a role for someone who wants to build - not
Responsibilities
- ● Write firmware in C for microcontrollers across Connected Warfare platforms
- ● Develop and integrate reusable device drivers for sensors, peripherals, and communication interfaces
- ● Debug issues that span electrical, firmware, and software boundaries using bench tools and embedded debugging techniques
- ● Support board bring-up alongside the Electrical Engineering team - reviewing schematics, validating interfaces, and getting new hardware running
- ● Contribute to firmware architecture decisions as the codebase grows
- ● Ship code to production systems that are deployed in the field
- ● BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- ● 1+ years of firmware or embedded software development experience (internships and personal projects count if the work is real)
- ● Solid C coding ability for embedded systems
- ● Experience developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments
- ● Familiarity with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, or similar)
- ● Willingness to learn - you don't need to know everything, but you need to be hungry to figure it out
- ● Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
Requirements
- ● Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.)
- ● Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors
- ● Debugging experience with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers
- ● Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, USB, RS232, or RS485
- ● Personal or academic projects that show you build things - not just coursework
- ● No Financial Requests: Anduril will never solicit payment or demand personal financial details (such as banking information, credit card numbers, or social security numbers) at any stage of our hiring process. Our legitimate recruitment is entirely free for candidates.
