Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present a variety of bakery and pastry items in line with hotel recipes and quality standards.
  • Assist in the production of breads, pastries, desserts, cakes, and other baked goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and adequate stock levels at your workstation.
  • Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and handled in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support inventory control by minimising waste and using ingredients efficiently.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, as well as other kitchen duties when required.
  • Work closely with the Pastry Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Take on other ad hoc duties and support the team whenever needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and food safety standards.
  • The ability to lift, push, and pull items up to 50 lbs (23 kg), including frequent bending and kneeling.
  • A good understanding of reading, writing, and basic maths.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Compliance with local food handling regulations.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for bakery and pastry.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
