About the Company

If you've built a strong background in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration or Platform Engineering and have started moving into cyber security, this could be the ideal next step. We're looking for a Platform Security Engineer to join a large enterprise Cyber Security team. You'll use your existing infrastructure knowledge across Windows, Linux, networking and applications to take ownership of critical security platforms. You don't need to be an expert in every security technology already. What's more important is that you have strong technical fundamentals, can troubleshoot problems properly and have started building hands-on cyber security experience. This is a great opportunity to make the move from Infrastructure into Cyber Security Engineering without losing the technical skills you've spent years building. You'll join a team of experienced Security Engineers and Architects within a large enterprise security environment. There's significant investment across both existing platforms and new security projects, giving you the opportunity to learn technologies you may not have been exposed to previously. Rather than being siloed into one area, you'll develop deep ownership of your primary platform while gradually broadening your knowledge across a much larger security technology estate. Responsibilities

  • ● Take ownership of a primary security platform while supporting additional platforms across the wider security environment.
  • ● Manage platform health, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades and continuous improvement.
  • ● Investigate technical issues across Windows, Linux, networking and applications.
  • ● Work across security technologies covering areas such as IAM, PAM, SIEM, EDR, DLP and email security.
  • ● Work with platforms such as CyberArk, SailPoint and Mimecast.
  • ● Diagnose problems internally before engaging vendors and manage technical escalations through to resolution.
  • ● Work alongside experienced Security Engineers and Architects on platform improvements and projects.
  • ● Contribute to automation, integrations and the longer-term strategy of your platforms.
  • ● Communicate technical issues clearly with engineers, vendors and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • ● Strong experience across Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration or Platform Engineering .
  • ● Hands-on exposure to cyber security technologies or security-focused infrastructure.
  • ● Strong Windows and Linux fundamentals.
  • ● Good networking knowledge and an understanding of how applications, infrastructure and security interact.
  • ● Experience administering and supporting complex enterprise platforms.
  • ● Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through unfamiliar technical problems logically.
  • ● Exposure to areas such as IAM, PAM, SIEM, EDR, DLP or email security.
  • ● Experience working with third-party vendors and managing technical escalations.
  • ● Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
