About the Company
Lindian Resources is seeking a Cyber Security Lead to join our Technology team during an exciting phase of growth. This is a unique opportunity to build, influence and lead cyber security capability across a global rare earths business with operations spanning Australia and international project locations. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will play a critical role in protecting the organisation's information assets, technology platforms and operational systems. Combining strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise, you will help drive security maturity, strengthen resilience and ensure cyber security remains a key enabler of business success. This role will suit an experienced cyber security professional who enjoys balancing strategy with technical execution and thrives in an environment where they can make a genuine and visible impact.
About the Role

You will be responsible for leading the organisation's cyber security function while remaining actively involved in security operations, threat management and security architecture. Working closely with Technology, Finance, Operations, Compliance and external partners, you will help establish and embed security practices that protect both IT and operational technology environments across geographically dispersed operations.
Responsibilities
- ● Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives
- ● Design and implement security architecture for our IT/OT systems including network segmentation
- ● Conduct hands-on security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
- ● Establish security standards, policies, and procedures for systems and data protection
- ● Lead evaluation and selection of security tools and technologies
- ● Monitor emerging threats and ensure systems remain current with security patches
- ● Establish and manage 24/7 security monitoring and alerting systems
- ● Develop and maintain incident response procedures and playbooks
- ● Lead hands-on investigation of security incidents and breaches
- ● Oversee security operations center (SOC) activities
- ● This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities and will play a critical role in protecting the organisation's systems, data and operational technology environment.
Requirements

- ● Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- ● Industry-recognised certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent.
- ● Capability to conduct hands-on security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
- ● Ability to perform threat analysis, forensic investigation, and root cause analysis
- ● Experience with security architecture review and technical implementation
- ● Knowledge of relevant security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.)
- ● Capability to direct hands-on access control management and identity verification processes
