About the Company

Based in Mackay and with locations situated in both NSW and QLD, our growing organization is seeking a highly motivated person to join our team as a Sales Engineer. Combining your technical knowledge with your sales skills, you will provide advice and support on our expanding range of products and services. Travel throughout NSW and QLD, in particular visits to the states mining basins, will be an essential part of this role. About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Security Engineer with a strong foundation in network security principles and practices. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Cisco networking technologies, particularly with a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing security measures to protect our network infrastructure from potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

  • ● Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions to safeguard the organization's data and infrastructure.
  • ● Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • ● Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  • ● Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • ● Provide technical support and guidance on network security issues to internal teams.
  • ● Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
  • ● Document security policies, procedures, and incident reports for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • ● Participate in security training and awareness programs for employees.

Requirements

  • ● Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and protocols.
  • ● Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
  • ● Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
  • ● Proficient in network monitoring and analysis tools.
  • ● Solid understanding of network security frameworks and best practices.
  • ● Experience with security compliance standards is preferred.
  • ● Knowledge of cloud security principles and practices is preferred.
  • ● Familiarity with scripting languages for automation tasks is preferred.
  • ● Experience with incident response and forensic analysis is preferred.
  • ● Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
  • ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • ● 5-7 years of experience in network security engineering or a related role.
  • ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
