About the Company

My client has been a trusted provider of electrical cabling services for over 25 years, delivering projects across greenfield, underground and above-ground environments. Focused on delivering more than just infrastructure, they are committed to building connections, culture and opportunities for their workforce, the community and their clients. As the business grows, the need to evolve and automate its systems, processes and, importantly, its technology has become business critical.

About the Role

In this newly created, hands-on role, my client is looking to appoint an accomplished an Automation & Cyber Security Specialist to play a key role in supporting the delivery of its evolving technology strategy. Joining the business at this important stage, you will participate in the discovery, design and implementation of the first phase of its five-year Enterprise AI & Automation Transformation Strategic Roadmap. Working across the organisation, you will identify where automation and AI can deliver genuine business value, develop business cases and help turn opportunities into practical solutions. This could range from automating manual workflows and introducing AI assisted processes across Finance, ERP and operational functions, through to improving reporting and data insights or identifying opportunities to automate elements of cyber security and IT operations. Coupled with this, you will help establish appropriate governance, monitoring, controls and reporting around emerging technologies. Whilst automation and digital transformation form a major component of this role, you will also work closely with the GM Technology, contributing to the organisation's Cyber Security Strategy and continuous improvement activities across ISO 27001, Essential Eight, zero trust, cloud security and cyber governance.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or a related discipline, you will be a seasoned automation and/or digital transformation professional, with postgraduate qualifications or relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or ITIL highly regarded.
  • Your career to date will include demonstrated delivery of automation and digital transformation initiatives, along with exposure to contemporary AI technologies and their application within business environments.
  • You will be comfortable presenting to senior executives and the Board, articulating transformation opportunities and taking stakeholders on the journey from discovery and business case through to design, implementation and optimisation.
  • You will bring strong knowledge of cloud and SaaS environments, ideally including Microsoft 365 and Azure, with AWS exposure also beneficial. Essential to your success will be a solid understanding of ISO 27001 and Essential Eight, together with practical experience working within these frameworks.
  • Of course, the ability to work with senior business stakeholders, understand operational problems and translate technical concepts into practical commercial solutions is a given.
  • The flexibility to work within a smaller technology team, where you can operate strategically while remaining willing to roll up your sleeves when required, will be viewed favourably.
  • Travel within Victoria and interstate will form part of this role; therefore, a valid driver's licence is essential.
